The firm's founder, Matthew J. Buzzell, III, has been involved in hundreds of trials and depositions in a variety of cases in California over the years.  His experience is highly diverse, from litigation of workers' compensation claims at the administrative level to recently being named General Counsel for the San Francisco Institute for Hyperbaric Medicine, Mr. Buzzell's most telling attribute is his ability to relate to clients and develop continuing relationships with them. 

Mr. Buzzell is a Member of the California Bar Association, Bar Association of San Francisco, Bar Association of San Francisco Barrister's Club, San Francisco Trial Lawyers' Association, and the American Bar Association. 

In June of 2008, the firm and Mr. Buzzell, appeared in Forbes Magazine as Northern California's Most Dependable Trusts and Estate's Lawyer, as referenced by Goldline Research (Forbes Magazine, "Celebrity 100," June 30, 2008.)

The firm was nominated by "Best of the Bay" as one of the area's best business lawyers for 2008.

In October of 2008, Mr. Buzzell's relationship with the San Francisco Institute of Hyperbaric Medicine continued to grow as he was elected to the company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Buzzell's background includes work for the late Congressman, Tom Lantos, (D) San Mateo, the United States Attorney's Office - Civil Division, the San Francisco Superior Court, and the California Court of Appeals.

Mr. Buzzell's trial and litigation experience includes a litany of jurisdictions and courts throughout California.

The firm's employment and labor practice dates to the Buzzell family's electrical company, Buzzell Electric Works, Inc., which closed its doors in May of 2008, after 99 years of service in San Francisco, as the last union shop in Local No. 6 that was actually located in San Francisco.  Mr. Buzzell's expertise has included representing both labor and management.  It also encompasses years of experience litigating wrongful termination, workers' compensation, wage and hour issues, and severance disputes.
